With the media coverage surrounding the closure of Poconos Palace, many people are unaware that it has several sister properties. Having stayed at both Poconos Palace and Paradise Stream Resort, dare I say I enjoyed Paradise Stream Resort more. While the rooms are nearly identical, featuring the same novelty champagne glass tubs and heart-shaped jacuzzis, the experience at Paradise Stream felt more like a cozy, family-run establishment rather than a larger, corporate “Caesars Entertainment” venue.

The resort boasts a small restaurant with live music, an intimate game room, and a brunch cafe that was, frankly, hilarious. The guests at this love motel represent all walks of life, from swingers to the deeply religious. For the ultimate kitsch experience, visit the gift shop where you can book a 1980s-style glamour shot photo shoot with your significant other. There’s nothing quite like having your love immortalized by someone using Photoshop on a 1988 Macintosh.
